COVID - 19 FOUR IDEAS FOR HOME WORKOUTS

With the virus came a lockdown and for now we are still allowed to leave the house for exercise once a day, however most parks are now closed because people naturally wanted to visit open green spaces after a long day of working from home.
This leaves us with walking, jogging, biking or rollerskating which is very pleasant these days with the mini heat wave (No clouds for the last 5 days and counting...) .
Here are a few things to do at home
1.Try yoga or pilates for the first time! If you have never done this type of exercise now is the time to search Youtube for a beginner workout and focus on your breath while you stretch those achy muscles of yours. Sitting is the new smoking after all and chances are high your desk at home is less ergonomically set up, forcing you to crouch over a laptop.
2. Get up while you are in a conference call listening to others blabbering on and start moving your body, as long as you can avoid being seen and heard when not needed to, you can play some of your favourite salsa and start moving those hips (or head bang to Foo Figthers, whatever floats your boat!)
3. Order a foam roller and massage your body, is it a workout? NO, but it's a fantastic way to improve you circulation and even stretch your spine after a long day of sitting. The more it hurts the more you need it! The "no pain, no gain" mantra definitely applies to foam rolling.
4. Try one of my home workouts using no equipment, a chair, resistance bands, suspension trainers or a Swiss ball.
